“While I recognize the necessity for a basis of observed reality...true art lies in a reality that is felt.” - Odilon Redon

The Creative Process:

After the birth of my daughter I found myself lost and disoriented, needing to reaffirm my identity, as a human, as an artist, as me. I found solace in children’s books, as the lofty and seemingly unattainable walls of the museum faded away and the bright and tangible books that I shared with my daughter fueled me. I became a children’s book lover, searching libraries and bookstores, blogs and websites for the next great story to read with my children. And so continues my love of stories.

As a teen I found refuge behind the closed doors of drawing rooms, trying desperately to make sense of the figure with a piece of charcoal on my paper. I earned my BFA at the U of O in Painting, because there was no drawing major. I work as a graphic designer by day and illustrator by night.

My family supports and informs my work daily. Our team consists of my loving husband, my sweet 9 year old daughter, my sunshine 1.5 year old son, and our furry friends, the dog and cat.
