A full day in-person retreat
with Lisa Kagan and Dawn Thompson
“Help us to be ever faithful gardeners of the spirit, who know that without darkness nothing comes to birth, and without light nothing flowers.”
– May Sarton
Join us for a full day art and writing retreat to immerse yourself in the brilliance of the blooming spring garden while honoring the light within you. We will reinvigorate our curiosity, reengage our imaginations, and offer ourselves the chance to be inspired by nature’s infinite wisdom of design. Through writing and art making, we will connect with the words and stories from our inner landscape and will experiment with painting on river rocks, printmaking with natural materials from the garden, making mini sculptures (with self-drying clay), and designing paper mosaics as we create our own personal alters, an ode to the brilliance in each of us. Inviting in the four elements, water, wind, earth, and fire, we will have a chance to consider what balance and harmony mean to us in the ecosystem of our own hearts amidst the push and pull of this tenuous world. This soulful gathering offers you the chance to deeply nourish and refresh yourself in the supportive, uplifting company of other women.
This retreat offers space for creative expression for women and those that identify as female of all ages and backgrounds. No writing or art experience is necessary, all art materials will be provided.

“I have now been to two art and writing retreats with Dawn Thompson and Lisa Kagan and both provided so much healing for my soul. There is nothing like gathering with others to create. Much like meditating with a group of people, the experience is very powerful in a way that cannot be replicated on your own. Dawn and Lisa are both very thoughtful, kind and supportive and just an inspiration to work with. I feel very nurtured with them, even (especially) at my most vulnerable moments sharing my work with the group. I am so grateful for them and can’t wait to retreat with them again!”
