“Trust that still, small voice that says, ‘This might work and I’ll try it.’” - Diane Mariechild

About the Art:

web_handstands_RborderThese images are cut from a sheet of black paper using an exacto knife. The images can be lifted up like a piece of delicate lace or framed between two pieces of glass. The creative challenge working in this medium is that an image has to be reduced to all-or-nothing shapes; there is no shading or texture, a line exists or it doesn’t. It requires you to choose the simple lines that capture the expression or the moment.
